I am an artist, not just by profession but by my very existence.

Plantation Economy Series, acrylic on paper, 2020

This is an ongoing series of curated spaces that are influenced by the disparities associated with space and access to infrastructures and opportunities. Viewers are challenged to decide on a key/legend based on the colours of the map. Whilst the title of each piece hints at my intent, ultimately the pieces call for personal assessment and conclusion. How do you fit into these spaces? That is a question that we constantly come face to face with as we traverse locally and internationally. You exist differently in each space based on your race, gender, status and influence hence the invitation for viewers to tell their own experiences and truths from their eyes whilst being able to receive the reality that other truths are existing alongside their own.
