Contractual Agreement 1, 11 x 17 inches, mixed media on paper (framed)
This piece is a continuation of the women and ownership narrative. Here, contractual agreements and images of fragments of feminine bodies are juxtaposed to form a collage. The work speaks to the the reality of the ownership of land and the ownership of women crossing paths throughout history and in some contemporary cultures. So much so, that it now hard for many men and women to distinguish the difference between the two ideals, in a society where the lines have long being blurred.
